Friday, Feb 17th. 2006

Well it’s another Friday!!

My name is Jeff Boone and I am the
“Webmaster” of Diane and Getty’s website.

No words that I can put down can even come
Close to Expressing my thanks to everyone involved
In the Barn Fire effort, but I will try…..THANK YOU!!

Help has been coming in at a good rate and
Progress is being made on rebuilding effort. As Diane has
Said in her last few entries, the lambing shed is done and
This weekend we are going to build a hay shed. A gentleman that
Diane knows is going to lead us in our efforts. Bob is a journeyman
Carpenter and we will all be following him. I am going to be the skill saw
Man and it has been a few years since I have run one, so I hope Monday
I come out of it with all ten fingers!!!

Diane has allowed me to take one on her dogs, Ray
In for a few weeks, after the fire, and he is such a joy to have
Here in the house. Ray has become a play-mate to my dog
Buck. Today, for my birthday I went to PetSmart and got the
“Boyz” a rope toy. Their new favorite game is tug-o-war
And the small rope toy I have lasted about 30 minutes!!

Since I don’t want to leave Ray in the house when I am at
work, and leaving him outdoors is not an option, I take Ray
to work with me. Diane lent me a kennel and I leave him in it
for 2 hours at a stretch and during my break time, we go for a
walk. With the cold weather we have been enduring, the office
staff has graciously puppy-sat him in the office. There are
three words to describe Ray, “EVERBODY LOVES RAYMOND!!”

Today, as I was in PetSmart, I took Ray in the store with
Me and struck up a conversation with a few people in the store.
I was asked where I got Ray and I asked them if they heard about
The barn fire in Carnation. Eyebrows went up and everyone said “yes”.
I told the whole story AGAIN. The people wanted to know about
“That really big dog” and how he was doing. Soon I was being
Surrounded by people wanting to know!! I filled them all in
And directed them to the website if they wanted to help. I felt like a
Salesman, but what the hell, if it helps, so what.

In the few days after the fire, when I got the website up
And running, we were getting about 400 hits a day and it was
So cool to see all of the people checking it out. The article in
The Seattle Times and the media coverage on KING TV sure
Helped!! See: http://www.jeffboone.com/jeffs_website_007.htm
For the stories.

Last weekend was the Charity Dog Trial benefiting
The Diane Pagel-Jeff Freeman Barn Fire. The good
People at Fido’s put on a great event and I’m sure I
Speak for Diane and Jeff, a special thanks to all who
Participated. And thanks again to Fido’s for donating
Much needed bails of field grass.
